The battle of the fire brigade continues on the fire that broke out on Sunday morning in a forest area in Rosena Xylokastro Corinthiawhere two people lost their lives.
The fire front stretches tens of kilometers and on Monday night the flames passed from Pyrgos to the coastal settlement Lygiawith the direction of Trikala Corinthia.
At the same time, the front towards Xanthohori and Vrysoules is in full development.
390 firefighters with 16 forest commando teams and 115 vehicles, volunteers and volunteer Civil Protection teams, as well as water tankers and project machinery of the Peloponnese Region and the General Staff of National Defense, as well as forces of the Forestry Service and the Greek Police, are operating at the scene.
From the air, 24 aerial vehicles, 12 aircraft and 12 helicopters, of which 2 for their coordination, attempted until the last light of day.
The National Highway was closed
On Monday evening, vehicle traffic was suspended in both directions, on the Patras-Athens highway, from the junction of Lykoporia to the junction of Derveni. According to the announcement of the Police, the traffic is conducted from the old national road.
By order of the Traffic Police, traffic is being diverted on the PEO from the Lykoporia junction (X.T. 132) to the Derveni junction (X.T. 140) in both directions due to the fire.

Two firefighters were injured
In addition, as it became known from the Fire Department, two firefighters were injured. One injured person with slight breathing problems and the second, under fire, was injured in the eye by the metal connector used by the firefighters to join the tires. Both have been transferred to hospitals in Attica.
