Engineers discovered problems with the concrete structure and wiring in the second apartment building, in Miami Beach. It was then decided that the residents of the 156 apartments had to leave their homes.

Meanwhile, the search for victims in the flat collapsed last Thursday, Champlain Towers South in Surfside, continues. At the moment, 126 people are missing, but according to the mayor of Miami-Dade, that number fluctuates because it is not known who lived in all the apartments or who were in the building at the time of the collapse.

Complicating the situation is that Hurricane Elsa is on its way to South Florida. It is expected to make landfall as a tropical storm on Tuesday.
