Second meeting module ‘The Substructure Foundation’

Monday April 8, 2024 at 2:46 PM

Various football development partner clubs of the FC Groningen Amateur Covenant recently met for the second time during the module ‘The Substructure Foundation’. While the kick-off of the module took place in February at the TopsportZorgCentrum, ACV from Assen was the host this time. Under the leadership of head of youth training at ACV Thijmen Ubink, the focus was shifted from creating a mission and vision to actually creating concrete objectives for the junior section (players aged 7 to 12).

Ubink kicked off the meeting by presenting ACV’s vision on the structure and content of youth training. He shared the club’s philosophy, which focuses on development and fun, and explained how this vision was translated into practice within the training for young players. After this presentation, the representatives of the various clubs worked together to formulate their own vision on the structure and content of training. There was a lively exchange of ideas, with clubs sharing their own experiences and insights.

Sharing best practices and learning from each other was central to the meeting. Participants discussed how they could support and strengthen each other, with the aim of creating a win-win situation in mutual collaborations between the associations. The realization that by working together everyone could benefit, both sportingly and organizationally, was widely supported. The various representatives will meet again later in April to think further about taking steps for pupil football in the region.
