At midnight, 83,519 corona infections had been registered in this country. This is an increase of 1,064 in the last 24 hours, which is 379 more than on the same day a week ago.

More than 4.2 million corona tests have been performed in this country so far.
On Wednesday, Minister of Health Bent Høie (H) commented on the development in the infection figures as follows to NTB:
– We are concerned that we do not see the top of the third wave yet and that it will be able to continue. It often takes one to two weeks before the measures affect the infection rates.

At the same time, he says that it may be possible to open up more in May. But it depends on the infection being under control in April.
– It is still possible that May may be the month where we can take the first steps towards a more normal everyday life, the Minister of Health said at a corona press conference on Wednesday.
He stressed that there are plans for stricter national measures if more outbreaks occur.
