“It was with deep sadness that I learned of the death of Corporal Vânia Martins, following the serious accident that occurred while carrying out her mission, on a patrol of the Traffic Detachment of the GNR de Santarém”, writes Eduardo Cabrita, in the note of regret.
The minister also transmitted, on behalf of the Government, a vote of condolence and solidarity to family members, friends and all military personnel of the Republican National Guard.
Vânia Martins was admitted to the hospital after being seriously injured in a collision, last Tuesday, between a car and a patrol car on Highway 1, between the Torres Novas node and the Santarém service area.
The other GNR soldier involved in the accident died last Wednesday, a day after the accident.
