Second energy zero in less than a year on the island of Tenerife | Radio Club Tenerife

It is the second energy zero produced in Tenerife in less than a year. The first, on September 29, 2019, left some 950,000 people without power at around 1:11 p.m. and did not fully recover until 10:25 p.m.

On that occasion, the Government of the Canary Islands imposed a fine of more than 10 million euros on Endesa for the incident and as a result of a failure at the Granadilla de Abona substation.

In statements to Radio Club Tenerife of Cadena SER, the mayor of La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, considers that “it is not a receipt” something like this happen again on the island and has demanded that “revise” Tenerife’s energy production model.
