The Department of Health and Social Services reported the failure of the Internet appointment booking site at around 8:30 a.m.
“The COVID-19 vaccination appointment site is experiencing technical difficulties. Our teams are working to restore the situation. Please note that for the moment, the telephone support line is voluntarily suspended ”, it is possible to read on the Twitter account of the ministry.
The Clic Santé platform and the support telephone line would have been restored at the end of the morning, said by email the information officer of the Integrated Health and Social Services Center (CISSS) of the Outaouais, Camille Brochu-Lafrance.
The ministry said at the end of the day that the outage was caused by an update of the platform.
“Since the start of the vaccination appointment, it has been brought to our attention that people make several appointments at the same time without canceling those taken previously. Practice which is detrimental to making appointments with the population. To prevent people from making several appointments, an update of the platform was made and inadvertently caused this failure, ”said in an email the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Marie-Louise Harvey.
The interruption of the system notably led to the cancellation of appointments made in the Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean region.
“The Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean region has informed the population that its appointments made on the night of March 26 between midnight and 8 am are not valid,” said Ms. Harvey.
However, it is still impossible to establish whether these cancellations also affected other regions of the province, she added.
This is the second outage of a few hours recorded this month, when the appointment system had encountered technical problems on March 12.
