Avatar: The Way of Water it’s only the third film to cross the billion mark this year, and the fastest as well. Top Gun: nonconformist it took exactly a month and Domination of the Jurassic World it took four months. In 2019, before the coronavirus crisis, nine other films grossed a billion dollars in one year.
The first part of Avatars as of 2009 it is still the highest-grossing film ever. In total, director James Cameron’s film has already grossed $2.97 billion.
Cameron hinted at it earlier this month The water way it still has a long way to go to be profitable due to its huge costs. For that it has to be the third or fourth highest-grossing film in history, he told GQ. This would mean The water way it should now generate at least a further billion.
