Sébastien Vaillant, former director of marketing and events for the Laval Rocket, received the Ken McKenzie Award at the 2023 American Hockey League (AHL) awards gala.
This award is presented annually to the AHL team manager who has been most successful in promoting his team.
Now serving as Director of Marketing and Merchandising with the Montreal Canadiens, Sébastien Vaillant oversaw all of the Rocket’s marketing department, including branding, advertising, sponsorship integrations, digital content and community relations.
He was also the organization’s primary point of contact for the league in planning and executing the 2023 AHL All-Star Classic which took place in February after two postponements due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Ken McKenzie Award was first presented in 1978 in honor of the longtime founder and publisher of The Hockey News. (N.P.)
