The young goalkeeper Sébastien Koula Tou has just signed, on August 9, 2023 in Spain, his first pro goalkeeper contract, making him the second goalkeeper of the CE Sabadell club pro team. He confided in us.
The Burkinabè international, who was with the U20 Stallions at the African Cup of Nations in Mauritania in 2021, will play with the first pro team as his club’s second goalkeeper, given his young age (18 years old). And he will be the first team’s third goalkeeper. Asked about the signing of this contract, he does not hide his satisfaction. And admit that it is “a mixture of many emotions. First of all, a great pride because being a professional footballer is the dream of every child when he starts playing football. And being able to do it at 18 is not given to everyone.
For Sébastien Koula Tou, seeing his parents’ smile and the pride in their eyes when this dream comes true is a lot of pride. “But on top of that, I have a lot of desire and excitement at the idea of entering the big leagues. I’ve been training alongside professionals for a few seasons now, but being able to step into that circle too gives me a lot of excitement. Because, as a competitor, I aim to play with the best and it is by training every day that this happens. So I have a lot of pride and desire to continue writing my history as a footballer and to start this new chapter in my career.” he points out.
When asked about his most cherished dream, the native of Strasbourg in France responds with these words: «The dream, I don’t like that word (laughs…)! As a worker, I mainly have goals, that’s what pushes me to surpass myself and to be better every day. I have many goals like any competitor, whether in terms of trophies, statistics, etc. But today, I will say that my primary goal is to achieve a great sporting career, a career that will last in time and that people will remember”.
The member of CE Sabadell regrets that many footballers are often attracted by the financial aspect of the job instead of building a career. “For me, it is above all the sporting aspect that makes me progress every day. I want to be a world reference in goalkeeping, mark my time. May football fans take pleasure in watching me play and may my loved ones and my country be proud to know that a Burkinabè has become one of the greatest goalkeepers of his time. he aspires.
And to conclude: “Winning and winning again is what I intend to do throughout my career, whether at the club or with my team”. For the record, Sébastien Koula Tou was born on 1is December 2004 in Strasbourg (France) from a Burkinabe father and a French mother.
