The OFC closes the chapter on Sebastian Zieliecki: The central defender’s contract is terminated. Those responsible hardly want to comment on the cause.

Offenbach – Football regional league team Kickers Offenbach has closed the chapter on Sebastian Zieliecki and communicated with the shortest possible explanation. “The OFC and Sebastian Zieliecki have prematurely terminated the contract that runs until 2025 and are going their separate ways with immediate effect,” the press release reads. A sentence that gives a deep insight.

The relationship with the man, who came to the OFC from Widzew Lodz in winter 2020 and quickly earned a reputation as an excellent central defender and played a total of 112 competitive games (104 in the Regionalliga Südwest, eight in the Hessenpokal) for the Kickers, fell apart completely in tatters . Christian Hock, Sports Director of the OFC, did not want to comment on the personnel.

Coach Christian Neidhart became clear after the game at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim II (2-1), where Zieleniecki’s successor as captain, Maximilian Rossmann, had torn his Achilles tendon. “Absolutely not,” he replied when asked if Zieleniecki could become an issue again. The 28-year-old played his last game on May 27 of the year (1-0 at Eintracht Trier). Since then he had continually called in sick. After six weeks of continued payment of wages, he returned to Offenbach and had trained individually and with the second team ever since. From now on Zieliecki is free of charge on the market. He has thus achieved his goal, but it has cost him his reputation at the OFC. (Joerg Moll)
