Sebastian Vettel “It took me a while to recover from my failure in Ferrari F1″[F1-Gate.com]

Sebastian Vettel says it took him a long time to recover from his failure with Ferrari that ended the 2020 F1 season.

After several successful years with Red Bull Racing, Sebastian Vettel chose to move to Scuderia Ferrari in early 2015.

Sebastian Vettel, like his hero Michael Schumacher, had hoped to end Ferrari’s F1 title deficit, but left the team without a fifth title.

Sebastian Vettel said on the Beyond the Grid podcast that he was putting pressure on himself to succeed at Ferrari.

“It was also a sacrifice,” says Sebastian Vette.

“I don’t think I felt any particular pressure being a Ferrari driver.

“If anything, I felt extra pressure from the expectations of myself to be successful in this place and to do this well.”

“There are many reasons why we didn’t win the title, why things didn’t work out, but at the end of the day I’m very happy with what we’ve achieved and we’re in peace. But looking back, we bounce back. It certainly took a while.”

“It was fun. I think I have a very strong emotional connection to Italy, the Italian people and Ferrari as a brand.”

“It was an honor to race for Ferrari and we had a great time together, so I have a lot of memories that I want to keep forever and I made a lot of friends.”

“In terms of numbers and statistics, I failed because my goal was to win the world championship and I didn’t.”

Sebastian Vettel had a difficult season before joining Aston Martin F1, losing to team-mate Charles Leclerc in the 2019 and 2020 drivers’ championships.

But Sebastian Vettel insists he has no regrets about his stint at Ferrari.

“In the end the package between Lewis[Hamilton]and Mercedes was too strong to beat them,” said Vettel.

But as time went on, I became more and more convinced. After all, at that point, there was someone else who deserved a better win. So we came second a few times.”

“But I have no regrets and I have learned a lot.

Sebastian Vettel has retired from F1 at the end of the 2022 season.
