Sebastian Vettel ‘Haas F1 sacking Schumacher is incomprehensible'[F1-Gate.com]

Schumacher’s F1 friend and mentor Sebastian Vettel believes 23-year-old Mick Schumacher deserves a seat in F1 and is a little confused that Haas F1 Team doesn’t feel the same way.

Ralf Schumacher, the uncle of six-time race winner Mick Schumacher, recently lashed out at Haas F1 team boss Gunther Steiner, claiming he took revenge “personally” against his nephew.

Sebastian Vettel said: “Obviously it’s difficult for him and I feel sorry for him. Team management at Haas… I hate to say it but I think there are some things I don’t understand. Mick definitely deserves to be in F1. I think.”

“It certainly hasn’t been easy for him this season. He may have made mistakes here and there, but I don’t think the team has been innocent, at least from the outside.”

“Some riders give the impression that they don’t care. But no rider doesn’t care, and never has. I think Haas could have done a better job of that.”

“But that’s all for now. I think Mick can learn a lot and hopefully learn from the situation and come back soon.”

Sebastian Vettel added that “the environment is always very important” for drivers, and Mick Schumacher said he could soon focus on the “next step” of his career.

It is not yet clear what this means, but the Mercedes F1 team is open to Mick Schumacher as reserve driver and prepares to enter F1 from 2026. Passionate about Mick Schumacher himself.

“I think he will soon focus on new tasks, on next steps. He has potential and I hope he gets the chance,” concluded Vettel.
