Formula 1 veteran Sebastian Vettel recently experienced two strong races in Singapore and Japan. He remains cautious on the Austin GP predictions, but also points out that there is reason for optimism.
Since Sebastian Vettel announced his retirement from Formula 1 after the current season, he has competed in six more races and crowned four with new World Championship points. In Hungary there was one point for tenth place, and in the next race in Belgium another four points for eighth place.
Two World Championship races follow, the Zandvoort Grand Prix and the Monza Grand Prix, which did not go according to plan for the four-time world champion. Vettel finished the Dutch GP in 14th place, in Italy he had to accept a zero. More recently, however, he was able to celebrate two points again in the points.
Because Vettel was able to celebrate the demanding road race on the Marina Bay Street circuit with an eighth place and four new points. On his favorite track in Suzuka, he even scored eight points in sixth place. However, he remains cautious when it comes to the predictions for the upcoming race weekend in Austin.
The 35-year-old from Heppenheim says: “15 years ago I made my Formula 1 debut at the US GP in Indianapolis. It’s always a good feeling to be back in America, especially on an exciting circuit like the Circuit of the Americas with its many challenging passages. “
“As always it is difficult to predict exactly where we will be in midfield, but the last few races have shown that we can fight regularly for points, so I am confident. We want to carry our positive momentum with us until the end of the season “, adds the 53-time GP winner.
