Sebastian Samuelsson continues to show good form.
Last weekend’s victory in the pursuit start was followed up with another podium as the World Cup weekend began in Hochfilzen, Austria.
The 26-year-old was third in the sprint over ten kilometers. The Swede was beaten by the Norwegians Tarjei Bö and Sturla Holm Laegreid – who both shot full.
– There are two Norwegians who shoot full speed and ride well, it’s tough. But all in all, a good race for me, says Samuelsson.
Takes over the yellow leader’s jersey
Samuelsson was noted for a miss in the horizontal shooting and today’s third place means that he takes over the yellow leader’s jersey in the World Cup.
It is also his third podium of the season.
Martin Ponsiluoma also shot a barrier and for a long time it looked like it would be enough for a podium place, but towards the end he was pushed down to fourth place.
– I was up and fighting for a podium place with a barrier, I didn’t think that in advance. I am incredibly satisfied, says Ponsiluoma.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the chase starts over 12.5 kilometers for the men.
