As if the unfortunate sending off of Thomas Kok (25) in Regensburg (1:2) wasn’t bitter enough. Now it is clear: Sebastian Mrowca (29) will probably be missing from third division promoted Münster for several weeks…
Fiber tear confirmed! Mrowca’s calf hurts Prussia.
There is no question that the loss of the experienced midfielder (26 second and 183 third division appearances for Cottbus, Wiesbaden and Münster) hurts the “Black-White-Greens” at least as much as that of captain Kok. Already in the 11th minute, Mrowca grabbed his left calf after a spurt and immediately signaled that he couldn’t continue against Jahn. Mrowca to BILD: “As soon as I started, I felt a strong stinging sensation and already suspected that it didn’t mean anything good.”
The confirmation came on Monday morning after a thorough MRI examination by team doctor Dr. Cornelius Müller-Rensmann (60). Torn muscle fiber – break from training for at least three weeks. If everything heals well…

A setback never comes in handy. But this time he hits Mrowca particularly hard. The summer signing from SV Wehen Wiesbaden was frustrated: “After initial difficulties at the start, including the many English weeks, I had only just really arrived. Fully in rhythm, absolutely fit and highly motivated. I was really keen on football.”
Which was easy to see in his strong performances. But he won’t be returning to the pitch for the time being. Even though the pain had subsided a bit on Monday. Instead, we mostly go to the weight room so that we don’t get completely out of step with exercises for the upper body. Mrowca: “I can also do relaxed running sessions and pedal a bit. But you definitely have to avoid jerky movements.” So that the torn fiber doesn’t turn into an even worse injury.
He is guaranteed to miss the next two games at home against third-placed Ulm (Sunday, 4:30 p.m.) and then in Freiburg (Sunday, November 12th/1:30 p.m.). This is followed by a two-week international break, which of course plays well into Mrowca’s hands. “My clear goal is to return to the squad for the subsequent home game against Viktoria Köln,” he ventures an initial prediction. So that would be in just under a month, on November 24th (Sunday), at the extremely unusual kick-off time (7:30 p.m.).

For Mrowca, it is the second injury in the Adler jersey, after he had to miss eleven days of pre-season training due to a strained abdominal muscle. Nevertheless, he has played happily in all 13 league games so far, and was in the starting line-up in 12 of them. His position on the left half position will now probably be taken over again by Rico Preißinger (27/came from Ingolstadt in the summer).
The DFB’s sports jurisdiction wants to determine soon – probably as early as Tuesday – whether team colleague Kok will actually be given a two-game ban after his emergency stop on Regensburg striker Agyemang Diawusie (25/70). Since the Dutchman did not stop his opponent with a serious foul, but only pushed him off with his body and caused him to fall, and without any warning, a higher punishment than this minimum should be ruled out.

Nevertheless, head coach Sascha Hildmann (51) has to rebuild his team for the difficult task against fellow promoted team Ulm, especially in defense. What he takes calmly: “We have enough quality in the squad. Now the boys who were only sitting on the bench recently can prove and show that they are right to make their way into the team.”
One thing is certain: The Prussians (currently 13th) urgently need a “threesome” again after two unfortunate defeats in Dresden (0:1) and Regensburg (1:2) in order to stay in touch with the secure midfield of the table. In any case, Mrowca is convinced: “It will work, especially with the support of our great fans.”
It would be nice if his bold prediction actually came true…
