Sebastian Larsson takes a place in Jon Dahl Tomasson’s management staff. The former national team player becomes second assistant coach.

Sebastian Larsson is a familiar face for Football Sweden. He played in the national team between 2008-2021 and is listed for a total of 133 international matches.
Sebastian Larsson has represented clubs such as Arsenal, Birmingham, Sunderland, Hull City and AIK. In November 2022, he played his last match, AIK-Elfsborg, and after his playing career was an expert in Viaplay and a leader in IFK Eskilstuna.
Now he will be part of new national team captain Jon Dahl Tomasson’s coaching staff. Sebastian Larsson takes on the role of second assistant coach and will work closely with Jon Dahl Tomasson and first assistant Remy Reijnierse.
– We work as a very dynamic group and have a good mix of international inspiration, ideas and expertise. I am sure that Sebastian will fit right in and be a good asset to the coaching team, says Jon Dahl Tomasson.
Sebastian Larsson is looking forward to returning to the men’s national team:
– It feels fantastic to have the opportunity to once again be part of the Swedish national team that meant so much to me during my active career as a player. I feel incredibly proud and happy and ready to get started.
The agreement initially extends over the spring meetings, March when Sweden meets Portugal and Albania and in June when Denmark and Serbia await.
In the new national team staff, Ben Rosen also takes his place as fitness coach. Ben Rosen has worked with Jon Dahl Tomasson in the Danish national team, Malmö FF and Blackburn.
