The Marketing Manager of Oberstdorf-Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen Jörn Homburg draws a sobering conclusion of the first weekend in ski operation on the Söllereck: Operation in 2G + is neither feasible nor sensible for him.
“The first test weekend in the Söllereck ski area is behind us. The most important finding from this is that a 2G + operation, both from an organizational and a hygiene point of view, is not feasible and at the same time nonsensical”, says Jörn Homburg, Marketing Director of Oberstdorf-Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen.
The number of guests was very low on the past three days for an opening weekend with fresh snow. Nevertheless, due to the 2G + regulation, there were long waiting times in front of the cash registers and thus long queues at the Söllereck. “The processing time per guest took an average of 4 to 7 minutes. This is due to the daily checks of ID, vaccination certificate and test certificate,” says Homburg. “There was also a high level of irritation and incomprehension on the part of the guests for the measures. This was primarily felt by my colleagues at the cash registers,” he complains. “We sincerely hope that the decision-makers in politics will recognize the effects of the 2G + regulation and adapt the specifications in Bavaria to the specifications in other countries and other federal states to 2G. This would mean that nothing would stand in the way of an eventful and relaxing ski winter” is his request to politics.
