Despite a temporary bug related to an excessive influx of connection in the early morning, fans were able to start devouring the eight episodes of this fourth part. The fate that awaits Tokyo, Lisbon, Nairobi and The Professor is now known by the fastest who have been able to binge-watcher this season 4. And now poses a question: Will La Casa de Papel be entitled to a suite under the shape of a season 5?
For now, Netflix has not formalized anything regarding a sequel to La Casa de Papel. It is therefore not known if a season 5 is planned, although the resounding success of the Spanish series suggests that the streaming platform will be tempted to sign new intrigues for this team of robbers. However, actor Alvaro Morte, who plays The Professor at the head of operations, has spoken out on the subject. He said he was not necessarily motivated by the idea of continuing the series indefinitely in the columns of Télé-Loisirs: “I don’t know [s’il y aura une saison 5, ndlr]. But I don’t think it is necessary to shoot a thousand seasons. You have to know how to say goodbye to the characters when the series work. I am one of those who prefer to stay on a good impression “. New characters in season 4
La Casa de Papel is used to introducing new characters to its series. Season 4 is no exception and fans will be able to discover new names: this is the case of Manila, a new robber. But in reality, you have already seen this character since she was a hostage in season 3. Incarnated by Belén Cuesta, this young transgender woman is actually Denver’s cousin. A new police officer already seen in season 3 will take more importance in season 4: it is Antonanzas, who will be involved in the operation to liberate Lisbon.
Characters from season 3 of La Casa de Papel will also gain in importance. This is the case of Marseille, introduced in the previous part which plays a crucial role in the eight new episodes. But the one who is likely to be talked about is undoubtedly Gandia, the security chief of the Bank of Spain held prisoner in the past season. This time he manages to flee and undermines the group of robbers.
While La Casa de Papel is back on Netflix, here is a summary of the previous intrigue of the Spanish series in order to find the characters in the best conditions. As a reminder, this production first broadcast on Antena 3 before arriving on Netflix follows a team of masked robbers who tries to achieve the perfect breakage. In the first two seasons, the Professor and his team storm the National Currency and Stamp Factory in Madrid to print and steal as many tickets as possible. At the end of season 2, the breakage is made and the team flees except Berlin, one of the team members, who is shot dead by the police.
Season 3 of La Casa de Papel follows the characters two years after this first hold-up. Rio is captured by the authorities. The Professor and Tokyo then decide to make a new breakage, this time at the National Bank of Spain, in order to save their partner. This time, Raquel joined the Professor’s team for this new mission. However, this was compromised with the arrival of inspector Alicia Sierra. If the robbers manage to liberate Rio, it announces in Tokyo its will to break up. This news puts the thief out of her mind, which will compromise the operation. In parallel, the Professor and Raquel are spotted by the authorities. Raquel is trapped and arrested by the police, while The Professor flees, certain that the woman he loves is dead. For her part, Alicia traps Nairobi by announcing to her that her son is present. At the same time, a sniper shoots down the robber. Season 3 ends with Nairobi lying in his blood, while Palermo, Rio and Tokyo explode tanks and lock themselves in the bank.

In the trailer for season 4 of La Casa de Papel, posted online on March 5, 2020, we learn more about the rest of the plot. In this video, the robber gang trying to save Nairobi, while the tension is at its height between the criminals with the masks of Salvador Dali. But their new coup promises to be compromised as the bank’s security chief manages to infiltrate the bank taken hostage by our robbers. War is also declared between the Professor’s team and the authorities, while Lisbon is forced to collaborate with Alicia.
We had to wait until December 8, 2019 to finally have official information regarding the official release date of La Casa de Papel part 4. And the wait is now over: La Casa de Papel season 4 has arrived on our screens April 3, 2020.
As season 4 has just come out, fans can ask themselves a question: Will La Casa de Papel be entitled to season 5? At the moment, nothing is formalized and Netflix has not commented on the subject. However, several media have raised this possibility, even arguing that a season 6 would be under discussion. However, it will be necessary to wait for a formal confirmation to have in mind the future of the Spanish event series.
La Casa de Papel is made up of a cast that changes little from season to season. Among the main roles, we find Úrsula Corberó in Tokyo, Álvaro Morte is always present in the role of Professor.
