On Saturday morning, the police will decide what they do next in connection with the search operation in Harstad.
Large search crews searched for the boy both on land and at sea.
– The search was put on pause at half past two last night, without a trace, says operations manager Beate Helberg at Troms police district.
The police will have a meeting at 10 o’clock about what they do next in the case.
The boy was last observed in the harbor area on Thursday night at 21:30.
– When he did not come home, he was reported missing. The search operation has been going on since early Friday afternoon, said operations manager Morten Augensen on Friday night.
In parallel with the search for the 15-year-old, the police are collecting as much information as possible about the young boy.
Local fire brigades, police and the port service are participating in the action.
– We also have rescue divers who are flown from Tromsø to Harstad to search more in the water. The defense with KV Heimdal is also on its way to assist in the search. We are working in the hope of finding him safe and sound, says Augensen and adds that the police want tips from the public in the case.
