I’ve always run Fractal before. Have booked a couple of North from various places with the hope that something will arrive during the next week, or early the following week at the latest. Waiting on a couple of other components which should arrive next week too but then it’s time to build… assuming I have a chassis.
But: As much as I want North to build in, I’m not going to sit with a ready-to-build project and nothing to build in, and Fractal seems to have really serious problems in production. Judging from everything and what I’ve heard about postponed dates in the past, Komplett’s “April 21st” is pure fiction.
That’s why I’m starting to look at alternatives.
The prerequisites are:
* ATX
* It should accommodate a large card (4090), and it should accommodate a large CPU cooler (dh15).
* Not planning to run water cooling, or AIO.
* Only m2 ssds and no optical reader. Therefore no requirement for large HHD bays or the like.
* Not all for gamer dudez in the design. RGB not of interest.
* Preferably black.
* Price under 3000, already burned so much on this.
* Be available for purchase with delivery within a couple of days (eg Internet, complete — Swedish/Nordic stores)
Have looked at Torrent which is more available than North (although it also seems to be out of stock in many online stores).
According to reviews, it seems insanely good for air-cooling — but maybe a bit loud at 40db+? Fans inside the chassis usually stay around 30, and that’s a big difference. Maybe not the whole world as I have the computer under the table and also often drive with headphones.
The closest thing outside of Fractal’s products seems to be bequiet’s ATX box and NZTX (or whatever they’re called)?
Anyone built something similar and has good options for boxes..?
