Lawyer Joe Biden said officials from the US Department of Justice found a number of classified documents after searching the US President’s house in Delaware. There are six secret documents found by the Department of Justice.
As quoted by AFP, Sunday (22/1/2023), the search took Biden by surprise. This is because the search was carried out after Biden was preparing to declare whether he was ready to run for the 2024 presidential election again.
The documents found included when Biden served as the US Senate to the US Vice President. Documents found about a dozen.
“The White House offered to have the Department of Justice search Biden’s home in Delaware. The search was conducted Friday and is currently complete,” said Biden attorney Bob Bauer.
“The DOJ took material considered within the scope of its investigation, including six items consisting of documents with classification marks and surrounding material,” Bauer said.
Bauer said that the Biden rooms that were searched included a work space and a storage room at home.
“The DOJ has full access to the President’s home, including personal handwritten notes, files, papers, binders, memorabilia, to-do lists, schedules, and reminders spanning decades,” he said.
Bauer said Biden’s personal lawyers and White House counsel arranged with the Justice Department to appear during the inquest and agree not to publish news of the previous search “according to its standard procedure.”
