On Friday, the GNR Leiria Territorial Command said it would continue its search overnight to find the missing child.
“We will continue overnight on the ground with ‘drones’ and territorial patrols,” said the same source to the Lusa agency.
In addition to these teams, kinotechnical binomials (dogs) were integrated in the daytime searches, but demobilized at night.
So far, “there has been no evidence” of the child’s whereabouts, the same source said.
Searches are being carried out in the parish of Atouguia da Baleia, where the girl’s family resides, “because there was no capacity” to expand them.
At 9:40 pm on Friday, 73 operational personnel and 23 vehicles participated in the operation, according to the website of the National Civil Protection Authority.
The same source clarified that the child disappeared from home at 8:30 am on Thursday.
The Judiciary Police (PJ) is investigating the case and, according to a PJ source, as early as 2018 the child had disappeared from another house where the family resided in the municipality, and was later found by police forces.
