Community Rallies to Find Missing Sződliget Resident Gábor Uram

on November 18, 2024, Gábor Uram, a 47-year-old resident of Sződliget, went missing under tragic circumstances. It⁣ is now ‌feared that he may have lost his life. In response, the local community ​has mobilized ⁣an extensive search effort, led by the Civil Guard of Sződliget under the direction of István Kovács.

The search operation is set to begin on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., starting from the Sződliget sports field. Teams will cover a vast area, extending to Hétkápolná in Vac and along the banks of the Danube in Göd. The search will ​include ‍roads, wooded areas, and⁣ other challenging terrains.

According to a letter⁣ from Riba ⁤Gabriella, shared with local editors, four search teams will be deployed. “Each team will have its own⁢ way and a leader​ who⁤ knows the area well,” Gabriella wrote. The teams will be supported by civil guards, search dogs, and drones to ensure a thorough ‍reconnaissance effort.

The community is also calling for volunteers to join the search. “We are looking for volunteers who‍ are not mentally or physically burdened by ⁢the sight or the scouting tour all day,” Gabriella emphasized. Additionally, female volunteers are needed for support roles, including making ⁢sandwiches, preparing coffee and tea, and baking cakes. These ‍contributions, though seemingly small, are ‍described as “very welcome” and crucial to sustaining the search teams. ​

The meeting point for volunteers is set for 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2025, on the Danube bank in Sződliget.The exact location will be confirmed by Friday.
