Search operation for missing woman in Trondheim

The case is being updated.

The 61-year-old woman was reported missing by family / close relatives just before 7 pm on Sunday night. She was last seen in the Kyvannet area in the 14th century.

The woman is 169 cm tall, normal build and gray half-length hair. She is wearing burgundy hiking shoes, a black rain jacket and blue hiking pants.

If you have observations of a woman who fits this description, the police want tips on 02800.

– Have a tip

Operation leader Trond Volden in Trøndelag police district says at 11 pm that they have stepped up the search with many volunteers in turn. Norwegian People’s Aid, the Red Cross, scout groups and Norwegian rescue dogs are participating in the search. The Civil Defense also participates with crews.

– We have received a specific tip about an observation that we will follow up. It is within the primary search area that are Kyvatnet and Solemsåsen, he says.

– We still want more tips from the audience, says Volden.

Works with electronic tracks

Operations Manager Solfrid Lægdheim said earlier in the evening that the police had worked for a while with only their own resources and they had their own dog patrols out in search early.

– There may be later observations than 14 o’clock that have been made by witnesses and that give us relevant information, Lægdheim said.

She also told that they will work with any electronic tracks.

At one point, there was also a search in Gamle Oslovei due to an address that was interesting to check out.

Uses drone

Eventually, one will also consider searching in the water.

Task leader Håkon Jørgensen coordinates the search effort on site and said at 22 o’clock that air support such as a rescue helicopter and drone will be considered.

Just before 11 pm, a drone was prepared from Trøndelag fire and rescue service. It was in the air a few minutes later.

– The rescue helicopter Sar Queen from Ørland will probably be in search before midnight. Residents in the area can be prepared for some helicopter noise, says Volden.
