The emergency services and volunteers are looking for a woman in her sixties and a child who did not return to the cabin where they remained at the agreed time.
Police posted a Twitter message about the search just after 9:30 pm on Friday night.
The woman and the baby were last seen this afternoon. It has since gotten dark and they may be on rough ground.
– We are worried about the time of day, that it is dark and out on such ground now, so we are worried that something may have helped them, says Operations Manager at the Southeast Police District, Arild Alfheim.
The search, which is done by helicopter, is on the west side of Flekkeren in Svanstul in Skien.
– There are a lot of volunteers, a lot of police resources and two air resources that are in the area now, says Alfheim.
The woman is wearing black pants, has gray hair and is 160-165cm tall. The child is wearing a small jacket, pink / purple pants and has long dark blonde hair.
