On the IJsselmeer, a search is ongoing for a man who has been missing since yesterday afternoon. The police, the coastguard and Rijkswaterstaat participate in the search. A sonar boat will be used for this, reports Omrop Fryslân.
According to the Royal Dutch Rescue Company, the man got a boom against his head about a kilometer away from the Breezanddijk and then went overboard. Since then, emergency services have been looking for him. The Coast Guard yesterday said it feared “the worst”.
Yesterday, ships, two rescue helicopters and an airplane searched in vain for hours for the man. The search was halted last night.
