A Coast Guard aircraft and KNRM rescue boats searched the North Sea near Terschelling all evening on Thursday for a missing man. The search ended around 11:30 a.m.
The man’s girlfriend reported the disappearance on Thursday evening, after the woman came out of the water without the man. It would be a man in his thirties wearing green swimming trunks.
Coastguard spokesman Denice Blok says that the entire area has been searched. The falling darkness made the search very difficult. A Defense helicopter makes a number of searches over the area with night vision goggles.
The KNRM was searching with several boats. The Coast Guard plane also flew into action. Police cars and ambulances were ready on the beach.

that the boats were mainly searching off the coast of Midsland aan Zee. A spokesperson for the Coast Guard speaks of little wind in the Wadden and North Sea area. The wave height in the surf is considerable: 2.5 meters.
Lifeboat Maria Hofker of the KNRM on Ameland capsized during the search. Three of the four people on board fell into the water. They were taken out of the water by
a SAR helicopter.
