The Maasmechelen fire station of the East Limburg relief zone has been searching for a missing swimmer in the gravel pool Het Greven in Lanklaar (Dilsen-Stokkem), close to the border with Eisden-Dorp (Maasmechelen) for more than two hours.

A group of young people had gone for a swim this afternoon in the pool of the former gravel pit, but suddenly one of them appeared to have disappeared.
The gravel pond is located between the dyke of the Zuid-Willemsvaart canal and the Rachels street in Lanklaar. The fire brigade is looking for the young man from Maasmechelen with a sonar boat and divers. Shortly after 7 pm it went wrong.
Mayor Sofie Vandeweerd (Open VLD) of Dilsen-Stokkem has been informed of the disappearance in the gravel pool.
