63-year-old Sergejs Mitrofanov has been missing since the evening of July 22. For almost four weeks, the family, along with police and volunteers, have been conducting a search operation in the hope of finding a clue.
Four kilometers from Kuģi’s house, the residents of the homestead, who were approached by chance, recognized Sergej. On the day of his disappearance, he entered someone else’s property, but was expelled from there, left, forgetting his bicycle in the yard.
“He had come from the hospital. Something happened in his head, I don’t know what. We have a record of him going into a strangers house, putting a wheel there and that’s it. He has disappeared from that house in the countryside – everything. No one has seen him since. Next door is the next house, there is a camera, but he is not recorded in that camera. We have had big search operations with dogs, police, national guards and nothing like that,” says the missing man’s daughter Inta.
Relatives hope to the last to find Sergej alive, but the worst scenario is also allowed. The main thing is to stop the tormenting ignorance.
“It’s hard for me to tell you, because instead of the police, we are also working now, because as much as they could, they said, they did, and further, I don’t understand why some kind of investigation isn’t being conducted, because there it was stated in the application that maybe he was knocked down somewhere, because they were there with some drunkards, so… I don’t know. Now I have all kinds of versions in my head, because he is not one of those people who would wander for so long. One day at most, and everyone knows where he is,” says the man’s daughter.
