As a result of billing for corona tests that were not carried out or could not be billed, unauthorized payments totaling almost three million euros are said to have been made by the Baden-Württemberg Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians.

They were then brought before the judge at the Heidelberg District Court. She executed the arrest warrants against two of the suspects on suspicion of fraud. Both suspects were then taken to different correctional facilities. The execution of the arrest warrants against three other suspects was suspended subject to conditions.
The investigations by the Heidelberg Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Heidelberg Criminal Investigation Department are ongoing.
