In the show, roles have been assigned to a brilliant ensemble of actors – Esmeralda Ermale, Ilze Trukšāne, Raimonds Celms, Juris Kalniņš, Jānis Skans, Jana Herbsta and Maksims Busel -. The composition of the actors differs on different days of the show.

Sean Grenan’s play “Now and Then” is an incredible story of human will, choice and love through the years, pondering the question of who is ultimately what determines our destiny. It tells of the elusive flow of time in which people move forward as they can, live and make choices. In the daily rush, the days run unnoticed, and one decade after another. 30, 40, 50, 60… And with the memories of everything experienced and achieved comes the experience of dreams, which it never managed to fulfill. But what if all this could be changed? If you could whisper something younger to yourself? Would you use it? And… If so, what would you say? What would have changed if you had chosen to go in the opposite direction at the crossroads of your life? And would you be willing to sacrifice everything to try to start all over again?

Theater lovers have already had the pleasure of enjoying two productions of the same author’s plays “Make God Laugh” and “Tin Woman” directed by Rēzija Kalniņa, which have long been on the list of best-selling performances at Daile Theater.

This summer, the meeting place created by Rēzija Kalniņa and Ainārs Rubikis – the music and drama room OratoriO celebrates its first birthday, offering several new productions.

3. and on August 4, Ronald Harwood’s tragic comedy “Quartet” will be shown with Latvian theater grandmasters: Mārtiņš Vilsons, Gunta Virkavas, Indra Burkovskis and Juris Kalniņš in the main roles. This is the story of four opera singers who have arrived at the nursing home and are going to stage J. Verdi’s concert program together. In the middle, of course, when dealing with existential issues – about aging and leaving the stage of life, the desire to be necessary.

OratoriO becomes an integral space – a bridge where co-existent basic cultures and a multilingual audience meet, where productions address socially relevant and thought-provoking topics, where diverse performances of genres and forms are created and where professionals from different theaters come together. Therefore, the Music and Drama Room OratoriO has started cooperation with Mikhail Chekhov’s Riga Russian Theater and is jointly implementing the project “Meeting point. Meeting place. Masters. ”. Two performances have been made within the framework of the cooperation. The performance of Asya Voloshin’s play “Mom” directed by Ināra Slucka with the wonderful Ekaterina Frolova in the role of Olga is a story about growth and acceptance of generations. In turn, the show “paraDIZZY” is a study of the world of women and men, where movement and sound are one. Choreographer and director Inga Krasovska has gathered Latvian and Russian-speaking actors in her performance show: Aija Andrejeva, Zani Dombrovskis, Vitalija Jakovļevs and Aleksandrs Malikovs. The premiere is expected on August 27, the show – on August 28. OratoriO is located in the popular Sports 2 quarter of the townspeople (Sporta Street 2, Riga) – in the former territory of the confectionery factory next to the contemporary art center “Kim?”, The “Easy” foundation, the bar “Marshmallow” and other creative residents.
