The elected president of the United States, Donald Trumpannounced this Monday the nomination as the next Secretary of Transportation of Sean DuffyFox News host and former Wisconsin congressman.
Duffy, 53, served in Congress between 2011 and 2019, and currently hosts a show about finance and politics on the Fox Business network and also contributes to Fox NewsTrump’s favorite news channel.

He is the second member of Trump’s announced cabinet to work for Fox, in addition to the next Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth.
Duffy gained fame in the late 1990s through his participation in several reality television shows, before serving as District Attorney of County Ashlandin Wisconsin.
In a statement, Trump highlighted that Duffy “He’s a Fox News STAR” and that, as a father of nine children, he knows “how important it is for families to be able to travel safely and calmly”.
The president-elect assured that his Secretary of Transportation “will prioritize excellence, competence, competitiveness and beauty when rebuilding the roads, tunnels, bridges and airports of USA”.

“Sean will use his experience and the relationships he has built over many years in Congress to maintain and rebuild our nation’s infrastructure and fulfill our mission to usher in the golden age of travel.”declared the next president.
Trump claimed Duffy was during his time in Congress “a respected voice and communicator” by his Republican colleagues and defended the “fiscal responsibility, economic growth and rural development”.
If confirmed by the Senate, Duffy will replace the head of the Department of Transportation Pete Buttigiegwho has held the position during the Administration of Joe Biden and is one of the rising stars of the Democratic Party.
