Music Mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs Faces New Allegations of Balcony Assault
Sean "Diddy" Combs, the prominent music mogul currently embroiled in legal trouble, now faces a new and chilling lawsuit. Fashion designer Bryana "Bana" Bongolan accuses Combs of an appalling incident that occurred in 2016, alleging he dangled her from a 17th-floor balcony during a heated altercation at his then-girlfriend’s apartment.
Bongolan’s lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, paints a disturbing picture of the events that unfolded. It claims that Combs, after banging on the door, confronted Bongolan while she was on the balcony. The lawsuit alleges he then grabbed and assaulted her, subsequently lifting her up and dangling her precariously over the edge.
"Anyone has the right to file a lawsuit, regardless of the evidence they may or may not have," stated a representative for Combs to the BBC. "Mr. Combs has unwavering faith in the facts and in the fairness of the judicial process [and] in court, the truth will come to light, demonstrating that the claims against Mr. Combs are without merit."
At the time, Bongolan weighed approximately 100 pounds and claims she desperately struggled against Combs’ hold, fearing for her life, before being violently pulled back over the ledge by him. She alleges that Combs "easily overpowered her" and that his then-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, had to intervene.
This lawsuit follows a string of over two dozen legal actions against Combs, with allegations ranging from sexual assault and drugging to witness intimidation and physical harm. He is also facing serious federal charges related to racketeering and sex trafficking. Combs has vehemently denied all accusations against him, including this latest claim.
“Mr. Combs firmly denies these serious allegations [in the new lawsuit] and remains confident they will ultimately be proven baseless," his representative stated to the BBC.
Bongolan, who claims she was unaware of what triggered the alleged attack, is seeking $10 million in damages from Combs. She alleges that the balcony incident was the culmination of a pattern of threats, intimidation, and violence that permeated her interactions with the rapper from the start of their professional relationship.
Her story echoes imprints of a separate lawsuit filed by Ventura against Combs in 2023, which was surprisingly settled the day after it was filed. The filed lawsuit by Ventura alleged abuse, rape, and sex trafficking. It also mentioned a chilling incident where Combs allegedly lifted one of Ventura’s friends “like a child and dangled the friend over the balcony.”
The allegations against Combs, if proven true, paint a deeply troubling picture of a powerful individual abusing his status. Currently, Combs is detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, after being denied bail three times by a judge. The future of the rapper and music mogul hangs in the balance as these legal battles unfold and the truth, as both sides claim, seeks to emerge.
