Sean Cox Makes Progress and Walks Again with Exoskeleton After Life-Changing Attack

Sean Cox, a football fan from Dunboyne, Co Meath, made significant progress despite his life-changing injuries. In 2018, Cox travelled to Liverpool to see his team, but he was attacked outside the stadium, leaving him severely injured. Initially, there were concerns he might not survive, but against the odds, he has made significant progress with the help of a mechanical exoskeleton. Now he walks with assistance, fulfilling his dream of travelling to Anfield to watch Liverpool’s matches. The Liverpool Football Club provides him with the best possible experience, seating him in the director’s box and removing seats to accommodate his wheelchair. Cox’s wife has adapted their home to meet his needs, and fundraising efforts by family and friends have allowed them to create a home gym for his physio classes. Despite intense dedication to his physiotherapy, Cox still faces difficulties as his needs are high, and home care services are inconsistent. However, his memory still suffers, and he’s still wheelchair-bound, but his love for the game and his supportive family keep him going.
