SEA Games 2021: Rahmat Erwin Abdullah Wins Indonesia’s 54th Gold Medal and Breaks a Record : Okezone Sports

HANOI – Young Indonesian lifter, Rahmat Erwin Abdullahsuccessfully won a gold medal from the sport (sports) weightlifting SEA Games 2021. Not only winning a gold medal, Rahmat Erwin Abdullah also made an extraordinary record for breaking his record at the 2021 SEA Games.

Rahmat Erwin Abdullah performed well in the men’s 73 kg number which was held at the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center, Saturday (21/5/2022) morning WIB. He appeared confident since in the snatch class. He became the best by successfully lifting a maximum weight of up to 155 kg.

This record is also a separate record for Erwin at the SEA Games. Because, so far, the heaviest lift that he recorded was 145 kg.

From the snatch alone, Erwin was already far ahead of his second place competitor. The Malaysian athlete M, Erry Hidayat, with a maximum lifting weight of 143 kg.

Moving on to the Clean & Jerk class, Erwin almost immediately beat his competitors from the first opportunity. He immediately lifted a load weighing 180 kg.

This record again surpassed the SEA Games record that he had set so far. Previously, he was able to lift a maximum load of 177 kg.

The only competitor left is a Thai athlete who can lift 181 kg. Not to be outdone, Erwin increased his burden to 190 kg on the second chance. He also managed to lift it perfectly.

There are no more competitors, Erwin wants to challenge himself even more with a 200 kg lift on the third opportunity. However, he was unable to lift it.

Overall, Erwin managed to collect 345 kg in total lift. While the Thai athlete, he won silver in a total force of 321 kg. The Malaysian athlete also won a bronze medal with 316 kg.
