SEA Games 2021: Asked to Compare Indonesia U-23 National Team and Vietnam U-23 National Team, Timor Leste Coach’s Answer Surprises! : Okezone Ball

COACH Timor Leste U-23 National Team, Fabio Magrao, compares the quality Indonesian National Team U-23 and Vietnam U-23 National Team from SEA Games 2021. He said the Indonesian U-23 national team played slower than the Vietnam U-23 national team.

Fabio Magrao’s answer falls into the surprising category. Because, the U-23 Indonesian National Team was able to play tactically, especially in the second round, as well as slaughtering Timor Leste 4-1.

This is different from Vietnam when they met Timor Leste. Apart from only winning 2-0 over Timor Leste, Vietnam’s opening goal was only created in 53 minutes via Nguyen Van Tung’s action.

“The two backgrounds of Vietnamese and Indonesian football have big differences. Meanwhile, Indonesia is playing slowly,” said Fabio Magrao quoting from Soha Vn, Monday (16/5/2022).

Fabio Magrao said the Vietnam U-23 national team had a fast game. Unmitigated, he predicts Vietnam has the opportunity to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

“Vietnam have quality and good physicality of players,” continued Fabio Magrao.

“I was impressed by Vietnam’s number 9 and 17 in the match. I like midfielder No. 14. He plays very well in that position,” continued the Brazilian tactician.

“Vietnamese football has developed very fast in recent years. Their football competition is also very strong,” said Fabio Magrao.

Timor Leste failed to advance to the 2021 SEA Games semifinals because they always lost four matches in Group A SEA Games 2021. Meanwhile, the Vietnam U-23 National Team and Indonesian National Team U-23 advanced to the semifinals after finishing in first and second place in Group A of the 2021 SEA Games.
