Sea flood caused by the southwestern coast of Iskenderun

Sea water overflowed in Iskenderun district of Hatay. It was stated that the sea overflow, which attracted attention after the earthquake that occurred in the city, was caused by the southwesterly.

According to the news of İHA; After the 4.5-magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Iskenderun Bay at 23:49, the striking sea overflow alarmed the citizens.

SEA WATER ENTERED INTO THE CITY

The overflowing sea water entered the city at some points. It was learned that the collapse of about 50 centimeters on the coastline due to earthquakes also facilitated the overflow of sea waters.

EXPLANATION FROM THE GOVERNORSHIP

In the statement made by the Iskenderun District Governor’s Office, it was stated that the sea flooding was not thought to be related to the earthquake, and it was caused by the southwesterly.

In the statement, “There is no negative situation that has been reflected to our security forces due to the earthquake so far. Our scans continue throughout the district,” it said.
