Sea animals wash up to death in Eastern Russia, ‘ecological disaster’

For a few days now, serious pollution washed up carcasses of seals, octopuses, sea urchins and starfish off the Russian peninsula of Kamchatka.

Authorities say initial tests reveal higher amounts of oil products and the chemical phenol. Greenpeace, speaking of an ecological disaster, is urging them to find the source of the pollution.
