SDPI calls for a judicial investigation into the Tripunithura custodial death | Madhyamam

Thiruvananthapuram: The SDPI wants a judicial inquiry into the death of Manoharan, a resident of Irumpanam farmer’s colony, who was taken into custody by the Tripunithura Hill Palace Police. A case of homicide should be filed against the guilty officials. This is not the first incident on the part of the Hill Palace Police.

Although many complaints were raised against the officials including the CI, political leaders and top officials saved them. Under the leftist regime, the police have become bloodless. Stopping the public on the highway and beating and abusing them has become a pastime for the policemen.

Even when the Chief Minister repeats that he will control the criminals in the police, the criminal activities of the officers continue. Even as custodial deaths are repeated in the Left administration, including in Ernakulam district, the guilty officers are escaping. Police officers must stop the trend of becoming the sycophants of political leaders. The inquest report prepared by the police on custodial deaths of police criminals is not reliable. State Secretary Krishnan Eranjikal also demanded that the real culprits should be brought before the law through an honest investigation.
