This Thursday, May 25 at 7:30 p.m., the exhibition of sculptures and paintings “United for Art” will be launched, where various works by the painter and writer Maeba Hinrichsen and the sculptor Francisco Cortés will be exhibited at the Santiago Medical Institute, located in Juan XXIII 6130, Vitacura. The initiative is organized by the Santiago Medical Institute in collaboration with Espacio Taller. It should be noted that the exhibition will be completely free and will be available to the public from May 25 to July 24 of this year.
About “United for Art”, the Chilean writer and painter Maeba Hinrichsen pointed out that “this exhibition is not just a mere art show, it is a call to reflection, to introspection, to break down prejudices and rebuild a deeper and more authentic to ourselves. As an artist, I have always felt strongly attached to the subtleties of madness, genius and creativity. I firmly believe that these three entities are eternally intertwined, forming an inseparable whole that will allow us to transcend”.
The inspiration for the exhibition comes from a deep search for authenticity that both artists have carried out and captured in their works. “The current era is dominated by technology and the relentless worry of being replaced. That is why our works seek to remind people of the power of authenticity, of deviating from established canons and daring to question what is taken for granted. It is not a question of rejecting technology, but of not forgetting humanity in the midst of its advance”, affirm Maeba and Francisco.
Francisco Cortes Calderón is a renowned Chilean sculptor and athlete, he has obtained the title of Chilean champion in four different disciplines: motorcycling, motor racing, skiing and golf. In addition, he has developed in parallel an artistic career as a self-taught sculptor, whose works are centered on his personal motto, “simple and imperfect”. The artist has been part of the curatorship of some exhibitions at Brick Lane Gallery (London), Market Art + Design Hamptons (United States), Art Monaco, among others.
Maeba Hinrichsen Panay is a painter and sculptor who has also found another way to explore the complexities of human emotion and desire in her career through literature. This year she debuted in the romance novel genre with “Sins Without a Name”, her first novel. Similarly, her artistic manifesto and her paintings have allowed her to be part of exhibitions in different parts of the world and Chile, including: Museo Histórico Militar (Chile), Oda (Argentina) and Art Winwood Miami (United States). .
