ScreenFlow, one of the benchmarks for capturing the screen of his Mac, recently received a major update that further perfects it. The software, which is used for example to create video tutorials, now includes a library of customizable animated titles.
For those who show their face in their videos, ScreenFlow 10 includes a new option that automatically removes the background even without a green background. Un bug (which affects other users as well) initially prevented me from recording my Mac’s webcam, but after a restart everything was fine. The background suppression works well, if not a little too well because the ears are a little erased. The Telestream editor has also redesigned video filters and effects, and allows you to import color correspondence tables.
The most important novelty is undoubtedly being able to record several audio and video sources at the same time (here too I had to restart my Mac after installation for my iPhone to appear in the list of connected devices). For example, you can simultaneously record your webcam, the screen of your Mac, the screen of your iPhone connected to the Mac and your microphone. We thus obtain several perfectly synchronized tracks that we are free to edit afterwards. Telestream assures that ScreenFlow 10 is the only software in the industry to allow this. In the same genre, it is now possible to record the audio of several applications independently (requires the installation of a driver).
This new major version also brings big performance improvements: the camera recordings are up to 250% smaller than on ScreenFlow 9 while keeping the same quality, and the speed has been optimized on Apple Silicon Macs (export 66% faster than before, for example).
ScreenFlow 10 requires at least macOS Catalina. The software is for sale on the Mac App Store for € 169 Or on the publisher’s website at 152 € where a trial version is available.
