The Ministry of Health and Population said the National Council for Children and Maternity had taken all legal steps in the event of a beating of children by a daycare manager in Alexandria Governorate.
Dr Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said the 16000 Children’s Helpline had been monitoring the incident through social media and had received several communications from the children’s families, confirming that the reports were been referred to public prosecution in order to preserve the rights of children and their families.
For his part, Engineer Nevin Othman, secretary general of the National Council for Children and Motherhood, indicated the full support of the Council for Children Victims of Abuse by the director of the private daycare centre, emphasizing that this incident it is a shameful crime and a flagrant violation of the rights of the child, during which the nursery director was stripped of any feeling of humanity and violated the rights of the children in her care.
Othman confirmed that the National Council for Children and Motherhood continues to provide psychological support and family guidance to children and their families and to psychologically rehabilitate children due to their exposure to violence and abuse, in order to remove the impact psychology of what happened to them.
