“Scream VI” Takes Home Best Feature Film at MTV Movie & TV Awards

The horror film “Scream VI” took home the award for best feature film at the MTV Movie & TV Awards. The sixth part of the Scream series won first place at the awards on Sunday evening (local time) in Los Angeles.

Also nominated in this category were “Avatar: The Way of Water”, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, “Elvis” and “Nope”. Tom Cruise won Best Actor for his role as a daredevil pilot in the action film Top Gun: Maverick. However, that was the only top spot for Top Gun: Maverick, who had entered the race as a favorite with six nominations.

This year’s decision was overshadowed by the Hollywood writers’ strike. Fans voted online for the winners of the audience awards for feature films and television productions, which have been awarded since 1992.

Featuring categories such as best kiss (Madison Bailey and Rudy Pankow in Outer Banks), villains (Elizabeth Olsen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness), heroes (Pedro Pascal in The Last of Us) and fight scenes (Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers versus Ghostface in “Scream VI”) was aimed at younger audiences. The prizes are in the form of gold-colored popcorn cups.
