Alexander Alexandrov, a senior expert at the Pernik District Administration, said on Facebook that he had been fired by Simeon Vassilev, the new regional governor of Pernik, after the latter found out that Alexandrov was a candidate for GERB MP.
“A story about a demolition, about a cowardly regional governor and the war against political opponents.
There is no complaint in the following lines and it should not arouse sympathy.
I have always believed that a person lives with the choices he makes and should bear the consequences with his head held high. You know me and I think I’ve always followed that rule. Over the years I have held various expert positions, the last of which was a senior expert in the District Administration – Pernik. My political leanings are no secret to anyone, I have never hidden them, but I have never allowed them to influence my expert work.
The caretaker government appointed a new regional governor of Pernik district two weeks ago. During this time, Dr. Simeon Vassilev never once called me, never once dared to look me in the eye. Don’t do it today.
Yesterday, when GERB registered its list of candidates for MPs in 14 MIR-Pernik, the regional governor called employees of the administration to make sure that I am the same person who found a place in the “enemy army” and immediately ordered me to be released. For this purpose he had to use employees of the administration, although I have repeatedly stated that if he wishes, we will shake hands and leave immediately, as befits any man. I signed the order because a public office for me never meant just a salary, but always made me happy. I also signed it because I never hid and did not run away from responsibility.
I signed it because one should have principles to follow.
In this line of thought, when he took office, Dr. Simeon Vassilev said that his goal was to organize fair elections. Apparently, “fair elections” means his own daughter to be second on the BSP list, and political opponents to be eliminated in one way or another.
