American from Chicago is the new shooter king of the Kilian Shooting Guild Schermbeck. Scotty took the bird off the post with the 409th shot. The queen at his side is Kate Richard (34 y.) and also from America
At 4:15 p.m. the time had come. The reigns of Dominik Woeste and Lenja Niesen ended after three years. The new king is Scotty de la Rocca, or as Ralf Daunheimer, President of the Kilian Schützengilde Schermbeck, said: “The New King of Schermbeck!”
In the end, he prevailed in a nerve-wracking crime thriller against, among others, Klaus Otto Beste, Christopher Seibel and in the end only with Johannes Steinberg. Until then, he needed not only a high level of accuracy, but above all stamina and nerves of steel.
The gripping competition lasted more than five hours. Shortly after the final started, heavy rain forced the shooters into a forced break. Finding your way back into the competition afterwards was a special kind of challenge.
Thrilling finish
Luckily, the sun regained the upper hand over the Schermbeck sky a little later, and we continued with a thrilling finish. Before the finale was switched to 12 shotgun ammunition and the shotgun was fixed according to the safety regulations, the first trophies had already rained down from the bird perch after 273 shots from the small bore rifle.

Jens Hindricksen took the crown, the left wing went to Philipp Nuyken, the right wing to Pascal Lubnau. Christian Herzig took the orb, Peer Holzmann the scepter and Julius Fischer the head.
But although the bird looked pretty plucked at this point, it took another 158 shot loads and 78 rounds of royal ammunition before the first American royal couple settled on Schermbecker soil. Experience a German marksmen’s festival Scotty de la Rocca happened to be one of the brothers of the marksmen. Major Thomas Wittwer met him on a visit to America and aroused Scotty’s curiosity with his stories.
