A Scotsman who was struggling to make ends meet in the UK bought three houses in Bulgaria on eBay for around £3,000 each.

Driver Rob Davies, 35, from the west coast of Scotland, had been looking for a property abroad for some time before coming across a huge house in Golyamo Krushevo. He documented his project to make the house fit for the reality show Help! We bought a village’, which airs on Britain’s Channel 4.

And while the house itself is a bargain, Rob had a huge task as the property had no fitted bathrooms, kitchen, windows, electricity or running water and was believed to have been derelict since the 1980s, reports ” Telegraph”.

Despite the huge amount of work he had to do around the house, Rob revealed he has no regrets about his decision and believes he is investing in his family’s future.

The excited homeowner says: “I’m always looking for properties on the market to see if there are bargains. I was looking on eBay and I just saw it.”

The father adds that he was “sold” on the property after seeing just a few pictures of it. “I sent a message saying I was interested, I wanted it, I think we paid a £200 deposit, got the keys and the rest is history. The house was only four walls with a roof, but it was ours. It was amazing to go, we can’t afford a house like that in the UK,” he added.

After buying the first house in 2023, Rob fell in love with the village and began to think about leaving a legacy to his children – prompting him to buy two more properties in the region for around the same price.
