Entered as a substitute, Scott McTominay appear as a hero Manchester United. Two goals in injury time brought MU to turn things around against Brentford.
From MU vs Brentford in the continuation of the Premier League held at Old Trafford, Saturday (8/10) evening WIB. The Red Devils won dramatically with a score of 2-1.
MU fell behind after Mathias Jensen scored a goal in the first half. Even though they continued to try to score a goal back, MU had not succeeded in breaking through Brentford’s goal.
McTominay, who only came on in the 87th minute to replace Sofyan Amrabat, then became MU’s savior. The Scottish international midfielder scored goals in the 90+3 and 90+7 minutes respectively to bring MU to a dramatic win.
“That was probably one of my favorite moments on the pitch. Two goals at the end of the match was extraordinary, but I’m happy to be able to contribute and show that I’m capable,” said McTominay to PLP as reported by the BBC.
McTominay also revealed the instructions Erik ten Hag gave him.
“It was very noisy, the fans were shouting at us so I couldn’t hear him completely. He probably said something like: ‘Come on and score’, something I did,” said McTominay.
This result brought MU back to winning ways after losing the last two matches. Thanks to this victory, MU rose to ninth place in the Premier League standings with 12 points from eight matches.
