Scorn: PS5 Version Review – Terrifying Horror Game with Cult Alien Inspiration and DualSense Features

The PS5 version of the terrifying horror game has arrived on the PlayStation Store Scornwhich is inspired by the cult Alien by H. R. Gigera. On PC and Xbox Series X/S, the game is quite successful, and players and journalists praise the disgusting monsters, strange environments and unconventional weapons.

Serbian studio Ebb Software made Scorn run in 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5. Also utilizes the capabilities of the DualSense controller, where the haptic response is intended to deepen the immersion of the player in this world. It is in him a story told through the environment, without spoken dialogue. Adaptive triggers allow weapons and tools to have a different weight feel. The controller’s light bar, in turn, shows how much health the player has and will change color in “appropriate situations”.

Scorn has Czech subtitles. It is sold on the PS Store for 949 CZK. Václav enjoyed playing Scorn a year ago, although he complained about the worse gameplay and artificial intelligence of the enemies. The atmosphere made up for the shortcomings:

“Scorn is a horror film like never before. The creators managed to create a game that does not focus on gameplay, but everything is subordinated to the impression of it. The atmosphere is burdensome and often unpleasant, but perhaps these are the elements that push the title forward. The worse gameplay saves the beautiful visuals, the inimitable feeling of playing and the disturbing soundtrack.”
