Manchester –
Sergio Aguero ended his career at Premier League perfectly. Aguero scored two goals which helped Manchester City win while setting new records.
Argentina’s top striker is certain to leave City after his contract expires at the end of this season. He played his last match in the Premier League when City beat Everton 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium, Sunday (23/5/2021).
In that match, Aguero played about 30 minutes. He just came into the field to replace Riyad Mahrez in the 65th minute at 3-0 for the lead the Citizens.
Aguero didn’t take long to make an impact. In just 11 minutes, Aguero managed to thrill the Toffees’ goal twice to complete Manchester City’s goal feast in the final week of the 2020/21 Premier League.
Thus, Sergio Aguero has scored 184 Premier League goals. Aguero has now surpassed Wayne Rooney, who previously held the record for most goals scored for a single club in the competition (183 for Manchester United).
“This is my last match, but I’m very happy. I want to thank your teammates because they helped me a lot. Thank you for everything,” said Aguero, quoted from the club’s official website.
“I am a striker, my target is to score a lot of goals so I’m very happy because in the end in my last match I was able to score two more goals so this is fantastic for me.”
Sergio Aguero overall has contributed 260 goals plus 73 assists in 389 games in all competitions for Manchester City. Aguero is one of the keys to the success of the Manchester Blue in the last decade, and has won 15 championship medals including five Premier League titles, one FA Cup and six League Cups.
